Competitions

Members are encouraged to improve their photographic skills and expertise by entering the Annual Competitions listed in the programme. There are competitions for projected digital images and prints.

They are divided into three groups:

  1. Applied – includes Natural History, Record and Travel
  2. General – includes anything not in Applied
  3. Other – includes Photo Panel, Audio Visual, Rundle Trophy and Triptychs

All entries have to comply with the Digital Images and Prints format rules.

Each competition is judged by an experienced independent Judge. No marks are given but the Judge awards any number of commendations, including highly commended together with third, second and first places.

We do ask Judges to comment on all images in a constructive manner. Only members who receive awards are named. The Judge's comments are only his or her opinion. Another Judge may well express the opposite opinion.
