Field Trip Report – Sun Lane Nature Reserve, Burley in Wharfdale, 21 August

I'm pleased to report that this was our best attended field trip to date with seven members present on a dry, bright morning. The reserve, maintained by Wharfedale Naturalists, was formally a waste tip, but is now a refuge for wildlife and proved a very good venue for our group. There were still a wide variety of flowers in bloom with attendant insect life, and although the pond was fenced-off, both dragonflies and damselflies were noted by members. Consensus from those attending was that Sun Lane was a good location to be visited throughout the year.
