Art Photography Group
Last year Ilkley Grammar School asked if we could help their Art Photography Group. This is a class of students studying GCSE Photography including practical sessions with shared use of Nikon D3000 cameras provided by the school. The time available for each practical session was limited and so the class teacher, Louise Mortimer chose Ilkley Tarn as the location since it is close to the school and is ideal for photography.
Ilkley Tarn
Having agreed to help five Club members took turns once a week last autumn to accompany the group on their visits to the Tarn providing assistance when required. The students quickly learnt how to use their digital SLR cameras and store the images on individual memory cards for computer processing upon return to the school.
As part of their studies, each student had to emulate a famous photographer and their style of photography when taking images around the Tarn. As part of their practical work, they each had to choose their best image once the location visits were complete. These images are now available on this website for everyone to see.
Please click here to open a new page showing all the images.
For the best display please click on the F11 key for full screen and then click on "View" top left below "Ilkley Grammar School" and chose "slideshow" from the menu. Then click the centre button beneath the image to start the slideshow.
As you will see they have produced some excellent images and we anticipate that they will do well as they continue to progress with their studies.
We will probably be helping the Group again later this year when they have further photographic excursions in and around Ilkley.
