YPU Annual Exhibition 2010

8 - 9 May 2010

This year it was hosted by York Photographic Society. Unfortunately the exhibition was only open for two days. Therefore for those members who were unable to attend these are the edited highlights. First a selection of pages from the Exhibition CatalogueAdobe_pdf_logo

The photos below show part of the exhibition layout in King's Manor, including eleven of our accepted prints (the print in the top left corner of the left panel is from another club). The Club's other four accepted prints were displayed on another panel in the next room but due to the high volume of visitors it was not possible to get a photograph of the display.

Richard with J E Barker Trophy

It was another successful year with the Club winning the Society Award, The J E Barker Trophy for General Colour Prints. This was received on behalf of the Club by Richard Spurdens, Vice President and Secretary.

Two members were awarded Certificates:

Nick Hodgson for his print "Wreck at Saltwick" which has also been voted by the public as the best image at our own Exhibition.

Tony Rostron for his slide "Morning Glow". Tony did very well having two of his five slides accepted.

Two other members had their images selected for the Photographic Alliance Competitions:

Geoff Smith, two colour prints "Neglected Phonebox" and "Tuscan Farm".

Richard Spurdens, projected image "Hatline".

The above five images can be seen on the following page, click here.

Congratulations to them and the other members who had prints accepted whose combined efforts won us the Trophy. We had 25.42% of our prints accepted which well exceeded the acceptance average of 15.88% for all club entrants. Well done.
